When London Drugs decided to implement a 5¢ fee for single use plastic bags, they needed a simple way to communicate both the fee and its benefits to a wide range of shoppers. We started by branding the fee itself as a ‘5¢ Bag Reduction Fee’. We then used the line ‘One Less Bag’ to empower customers to realize how their small choices can really add up. We then simply communicated facts about where the funds were going (to help pay for free recycling) and launched the campaign in store, online and with internal staff training videos.
